You should never drill a hole in your throttle body, tuned thousands of ls vehicles and never drilled a single TB. I shoot for IAC steps of 60-80 on cammed cars, that allows the IAC enough range for cold start. I wont even tune a vehicle anymore if someone drills the TB, I make them get another TB or blade. _____

Mate I have a cammed VZ clubby with Ls2 which I tune myself. It'll be airflow related, cranking air and there is air multiplier in the tunes based on water temp as well. May also be not set up right for cold air temps for the fuelling being mafless. Depends how good the tuner is. There are a few things but I am 99% sure it is tune related. HSV Senator, when it was originally given a maf tune by a 'tuner' who shall remain nameless, the idle was pretty rough, to the point where it was shaking all over the shop. Since being retuned mafless by GM Performance the idle has calmed down a lot, but you can definitely tell its cammed, but its not a pain to drive in traffic.

I was surprised it seemed to idle like it was going to stall. I remember thinking I don't have it that bad if this is what the full size guys are going through. I also don't believe in the 100k tuneup schedule nonsense either. give it a full tune up i bet it'll run like new. JMHO, I think the cathedral port heads are fine, with a good set up, or porting, the 450-500 hp is easily possible from what the LS cylinder head guys say.
